I'm pretty sure that zoloft does not cause weight gain as one of its side effects but I want to be sure. I'm on zoloft currently.

I've been on Zoloft for 7 years. When I first started on the drug, I lost 40 pounds (since the mood enhancing effects actually got me out of bed!). I gained back some of the weight, lost it, gained it, lost it, etc. It varies from person to person. Weight gain is a "typical" side effect, but weight loss can also occur. If you've noticed any unusual weight gain/loss, call your doctor to make sure that Zoloft is right for you. Also be sure to look at any differences in eating and physical activity habits. Are you eating less and gaining weight? Are you eating more? Are you more/less active? When I dropped the 40lbs, I realized that it wasn't so much the drug as it was the increased physical activity (not just getting out of bed, but I had started working at a job where I was constantly on my feet running around).
Let me know if I could be of any more help :)
Take care of yourself :)
