I feel like I have been locked up forever. My feelings are just know started to come out. I'm not sure if what I am feeling is depression or if it is something else. My family has treated me bad for a long time. I haven't ever said anything because I didn't know how and now that I have told a couple people I feel said and lonely all the time like no one understands. I guess what I need is probably someone just to talk to and understand me. I don't think that someone who is 16 should feel this way. Maybe someone can help me. Bye

What you may be feeling is supressed anger. Once you hold something in for so long, eventually it comes out. I don't know your circumstanc of how your family treated you bad all of your life, but what I would suggest is that you get some counceling. You would be suprised as to how much this will help. I'm going to give you some signs of depression, and if three of them pertain to you, the yes, you may be depressed, and need to see a doctor, to get you on the appro. meds.
1) You always seclude yourself
2) You have a gain, or loss in your eating habits.
3) You have trouble sleeping, or you sleep too much.
4) You think that no one loves you.
5) You feel useless, hopeless, and worthless
6) the things that use to interest you, don't anymore. such as hobbies.
7) You try to avoid the phone
8) You question as to why you were ever born
9) you sometimes wish you were dead
10) you think that everyone is against you.
If any of these fit you, please go and see a doctor. It's nothing to be embarresed about. Millions of people suffer from depression, and there is a way that you can live with it, you just have to seek help. I wish you luck, and if you would like to talk further, email me at jricha24@bellsouth.net
