Prozac, is used for depression. It doesn't give you a "high". What it does is it makes your brain release more saratone along with some other chemicals in your brain. I myself take zolof, which is in the same family as Prozac. The antidepressant isn't addictive. The only thing is you just can't stop taking it you have to decrease your dosage when you stop taking the medicine. The reason being is that it makes your brain release more saratone, and if you suddenly stop, you may be more depressed. You brain has to get use to "not" releasing the amount of saratone. I myself have just "stopped" taking the zolof, and I didn't feel any affects what so ever. I just got depressed again, as I was before I started taking it. you must understand that all antidepressants doesn't work the same for people. They may try you on several differant ones until they find the right ones for you. I don't know who told you it was addictive, but it's not. If your depressed you need to take them. You will be suprised as to how much better you will fill. If you would like to go to www.walgreens.com and they will have more information on the medication.
I wish you luck.
