Hi there !!
First , let me say to you that EACH AND EVERY MEDICINE THAT CHANGES THE CHEMISTRY OF YOUR BRAIN ( modifying your mood is a change of chemistry) IS , AT ONE POINT OR ANOTHER ADDICTIVE, for the simple reason that if you let go of them just like that, there will be some side effects to it... The prescription has to be followed as your pratician said and ANYONE that tells you otherwise is a fool ...
That does not mean that you will become a prozac addict though... a pratican will lead you through your withdrawal period slowly decreasing your dosage so that you will not feel the side effects and this till you can stop on your own after following his orders...:-))
This is something that you should talk with your pratician first of all people...He is the one that knows best for he saw you before and is aware of your problem and of your history....Some people on this site ( not that I am putting down any !!!) are not experts in this field and give advices that sometime you should not listen or take into consideration.... These kind of questions should only be answered by your own pratician...:-)) He is the one in a situation to help you best...trust me... :-))
Sincerely, Mystic Knight
