I feel that the best way to start learning what is all involved with the counseling field is to become involved in doing volunteer work at some type of center that works with the disadvantaged. Types of these centers would be teen shelters, homeless shelters, domestic abuse shelters, and hospitals. In this way, you will learn some of the areas of counseling and what are some of the help that is needed before becoming involved with a lot of schooling. Also, in this way, you can start some training to help others and go from there.
If you have further questions and/or comments, please feel free to contact me at any time.
Blessings in all that you do.
