psugrowler asked this question on 2/27/2000:
Sometimes I truly feel this way.
I feel like there is no hope.
I feel the American Dream has deserted me.
I see time pass by and no one appreciates anything I do.
I lost my interest in being extroverted.
It's been a long road of disappointments.
How bout some real advice and not just taking a walk.
I tired of all the pundits in America and want advice strictly from a professional.
Thank you.

Dear psugrowler
To your feeling "there is no hope" there's always the question "for what?". That the sun isn't going to rise tomorrow?
On the American Dream having deserted you, that may be true for many. It's inevitable that at the rate globalization is taking place, there seem to be little room for nationalism. One has to be break oneself from the shackles of the national boundary.
"I see time pass by and no one appreciates anything I do" seems relative. It seems to me that there's the need to come to terms with the notion of the Force which not only appreciates but provides the facility for you appreciate the passing time.
"I lost my interest in being extroverted." Extro/Introvertedness are all created as a temporary measure to identify a particularity. Look at nature and we don't see very many, if at all, single creatures. The Force (also called Creator) has created creatures (including us) in teams. Extro/introvertedness depends on our position in a team.
"It's been a long road of disappointments." Disappointments are merely "tests" of our ability to respond to a particular event in a particular way that would make us more resilient to subsequent tests. The perception of how things work in life has to change.
"How bout some real advice and not just taking a walk." For a start, we have to be open to change - that whatever belief we have would have to be displaced by something more universal.
"I tired of all the pundits in America and want advice strictly from a professional." Professionals are created by those who claim to profess a certain belief and lock themselves up in a particular profession. In a time when these professional borders are breaking apart, one has to continuously read the changing world.
