I have been on Paxil for three weeks now for anxiety and although most of the bothersome side effects have lessened I still experience a very annoying one, tightness in my throat at times. I was told by a nurse that it usually goes away between 4 to 6 weeks. Is that so ? Is there a chance it will never go away as long as I am still on Paxil ? Also the bottom number on my blood pressure is up over 90 for the first time ever. Could that be another side effect and if so will that also go away ? I would really appreciate you educated insight on this matter.
Thank You,

I have been on Paxil for several years for my depression and anxiety problems. I have found that paxil will lessen the anxiety feelings as it builds in your system depending on the dosage that your on. You may still feel anxiety if you have a severe problem with anxiety this would require a type of medication like Zanax. This relives the anxiety but I must warn you it is habit forming. I would discuss with your Dr. about increasing your paxil dosage before you try any other medication. Just by adjusting your dosage of paxil my be enought to solve the problem.
