I'm being treated for depression with celexa (citalopram). I have been taking augmentin for bronchitis and had also done some over-the-counter sudafed and Afrin for congestion. Also, I have been stealing my daughter's ritalin, grinding it up, and snorting it. Last week I had a few angry outbursts. Could the interaction of these drug have resulted in the anger or does celexa have those side effects alone? I'm on 20 mg.

I'm not a psychiatrist but I do know that the combination you mentioned cannot be healthy. It may not actually hurt you physically but none of those drugs can do what it is intended to do with some many other things interfering. I cannot explain what exactly caused the outburst, especially since ritalin should help such a condition. There is another issue at hand that may not have been your intent for someone to address. It is taking your daughter's ritalin. I am concerned with why you decided to take it in the first place. Have you ever done something like this before, mixing different meds? If you answer yes there may be a greater problem here and I would strongly suggest speaking to someone about that. This can be very harmful. Was the outburst the only side effect you experienced?

Thanks. The ritalin was an attempt to gain some clarity because the celexa was making me drowzy and lethargic.
