I just reviewed your concern regarding shock treatment. I'm not too familiar with the complications that could result from such a treatment but I myself am not comfortable with what richardwross described as the negatives. The question you need to ask yourself is 'are those mentioned cons tolerable compared to how you feel now', 'would you rather risk possible sporatic memory loss for a possible mood swing.' There are no guarantees either way, nothing to say that the side effects would be definate or the result satisfactory. I am a psychology student and have focused on counseling approaches. Is this something you've tried and were not satisfied with the results? My opinion as a person, based on what richardwross said, is not to have the shock treatment. I believe that this remedy is used for personality disorders, psychotics, and personally may be rather drastic for your dilemma. Maybe if you elaborated on exactly what it is that you are experiencing there may be something that one of us can help you with.
