This is based on a poor cell phone connection of a few second durations while Graham was stuck in LA traffic. He is in enough trouble that I am going to try to borrow the money to fly down there myself to see an ugly chapter in the history of justice. I whipped out this press release best I could with the help of people on IRC. Excuse any errors, it had to be done by 5 pm and there was no way to check it. Please spread this to any media folks you can, and if you are in the LA area, try to be in the court to support Graham. Keith Henson
PRESS RELEASE, for immediate release
Controversial anti-cult lawyer Graham Berry faces his toughest day in the courtroom yet tomorrow morning, when LA Judge Alexander Williams, III decides whether to jail him for contempt of court stemming from a libel lawsuit which involves the Church of Scientology.
A declaration accuses Judge Williams of a close relation with Scientology. Williams was asked to recuse himself on these grounds.
Berry recently released to the court and to the Internet a shattering affidavit by Robert Cipriano. Williams has ordered the declaration and the supporting exhibits sealed--for no obvious reason except to acomodate Scientology.
Berry, a longtime activist with a special interest in cases involving ex-scientologists and critics of the church, is accused of 'vexatious litigation' under a little-used portion of California law.
The case was one against Cipriano, who had been blackmailed into providing purjurous testimony against Berry. Cipriano has now joined Berry in Berry's attempt to expose a number of criminal acts perverting the justice system.\
The case is unusual for another reason: in an affidavit filed by Berry in another ongoing case agains the church, Williams has been accused of having a close relationship with the Church.
The case will be called at 8:30 am sharp in Dept 35 at the courthouse on 111 Hill St in Los Angeles.
