Is there such a thing as an afterlife in Wicca? How does it, if it exists, compare to the views of Christians or Moslems? If it doesn't exist, what do Wiccans see as reason to live a good or fulfilling life?

Myd- Im sure you have heard this before but mine may add a different vision- who knows...LOL The afterlife within Wicca is called the Otherworld, Summerland, Avalon, etc. It is a place we go to upon death to rest up, relax and reflect upon the lessons in this life and what we need to work on in the next. It isnt a control as it is within Christianity. The Church offered the idea of Heaven and Hell as a control mechanism for the masses. If you behaved well and to the churches requirements- you would go to Heaven- if you behaved badly or lived outside the Churches law- you went to Hell. I dont believe in a judgemental system as harsh as this one. Wicca is all about living the best you can and all the while improving yourself, your environment and your community. I believe each of us come into each life time with a series of lessons to learn and be taught- if these arent completed then you come back with them still to be worked on , if completed- you have a new series for the next life. All of these lessons are to raise us a step higher in our evolution as souls. Hope this helped- Namaste- Moonie
