Is there such a thing as an afterlife in Wicca? How does it, if it exists, compare to the views of Christians or Moslems? If it doesn't exist, what do Wiccans see as reason to live a good or fulfilling life?
WickerMan gave this response on 5/14/2000:
Greetings.
Wicca does not have a set dogma, so the answers to your questions will differ from one individual to the next. Some believe there is an "after life;" others do not. Some believe there is reincarnation; some do not. My personal belief is that we are born once, and return to the Earth as dust and existance ends.
You then ask what reason Wiccans have for living a good life if we do not believe in an "after life." I do not see how the two subjects are related. Is not living properly, kind, compasionate, and at peace with one's neighbor and oneself enough of a reward in itself?
