I would like to know if you believe the Tuatha De Danaan are from "the clouds or heavens", as told in the Gaelic Irish book, "Lebor Gabala"? Is there a possibility that the "People", or the Tuatha, are from another planet or solar system somewhere in this endless galaxy, and do you know of any current texts or evidence proving it scientifically? Thanks!

Dear Anonymous,
The Tautha de Danaan are the Goddesses and Gods of Eire. Their arrival in Ireland is described in mythological terms because they are the actors in beautiful and powerful myths. The Greek Gods and Goddesses are placed on Mount Olympus because that was the highest mountain around and the Greeks felt that only such a great height could accommodate gods as great as theirs. You also find this in India where the most ancient and Goddesses and Gods are said to dwell in or to have come from the Himalayan mountains.
There is no way to scientifically prove or disprove the origins of the Children of Danu. Religion has nothing to say of Science and Science has nothing to say of Religion. If I choose to believe that the Tautha de are Gods and Goddesses and you choose to believe they are space aliens we are both believing and therefore both involved in a religious experience.
Science is not merely a body of knowledge it is also the process through which the knowledge or information is derived. When one does science one postulates a theory, devises an experiment (or experiments) to test the theory, and draws conclusions regarding the theory after the experiments have proved or disproved it. I can not imagine any experiment that would prove the theory that the Tautha de are or are not space aliens. Until one is devised and executed we have the privilege of individually deciding what we do and do not believe on the question.

Teehee ^_^ I know the whole scheme sounds ridiculous, as I'm sure Dana would shake her head in sorrow for her silly child to be thinking such outlandish things, but I just wondered where their origins might lie, as their past is "shrouded in mist". I am a solitary practitioner of the Faery Faith, who by the command of Dana through the power of dreams is writing a book which has no connection and every connection to the People as I saw them in my eyes that fateful night. The loss of many hours is evidence of Her visit, although in the dream She had not enough time to relate all things except that which was necessity and nothing more; the dream did seem rather quick and fleeting. Thank you for your response, and the link as well. A wonderful site, Tira! I know not if the People are truly "from the clouds or heavens" either, as the text was edited for content over the centuries. They may or may not be alien in origin, but I DO believe nevertheless ;) Thanx again!
