I can't find any other Wiccans in my area to learn from. I have decided to be solitary but would like some info to get started, maybe what books you would suggest, or anything else you find helpful.

Goodmorning Jenny...
Starting your quest as a Wiccan will surely be an adventure. It's certainly a way of life. I'm not a "true" Wiccan as I use American Indian healing practices as well as a sort of "Kitchen Witch" theme. But..I started out with a book called "Wicca A Guide For the Solitary Practitioner" by Scott Cunningham. It's a simple, informative guide to everything you need to know to become a Witch. I've practiced for about 12 years and find that if your intention is honorable, you can improvise any spell. Nothing you do is wrong, because it comes from within. I live by the Wiccan Rede and the Laws of the Craft. The first being: "Harm none." If you keep that in mind, you'll be fine. The first thing that you need to do is get a book, since you don't have anyone to teach you. I chose to be a solitary because I believed that in creating spells, you don't want anyone else's negative vibrations to "taint" anything that you do. Also, you know exactly what your end result will be (if your intention is pure). There's so much hate and evil in this world, and if we can change just a little bit of it, one person at a time, we'll create a better life for all those we touch. If we show, by our example, that Wiccans, Witches, and Crafters are beautiful, honorable people with good intentions, then we've left a mark in this world. Study, live by the Rede, take time to enjoy this earth and honor it and your life will be a wonderful, beautiful adventure. Blessed Be, Stargazer

Hi again Jenny...I've been reading a book by a woman who lives in a nearby town...her name is Silver RavenWolf..Her book is called "To Ride a Silver Broomstick". She's a very interesting writer...adds humor to her teachings and is very informed. She has several books out, but this is the only one I have so far. I have an extensive library of books about herbs, Feng Shui, Crystal Enlightenment, one called "All Women are Healers" by Diane Stein, and tons of others that I had a "feeling" to buy. I'd be glad to help you in any way you need. If you have any more questions, feel free to email me...I have Yahoo voice chat as well...I'm stargazer44_99@yahoo.com...just stargazer44_99 for the voice chat. I'm always available to help someone who is genuinely interested in furthering their knowledge. Have fun with it...I do! Blessed Be...Stargazer
