Would you consider wicca to be a hobby or a serious religion?

Wicca is a religion. It's been officially recognized by our government as such (since 1978, if memory serves), whether for establishing of churches, or in the military (the chaplain's manual contains a section about it).
The difference is in the practitioners, not in the status of the religion itself. While some people adopt it as their religion, path, belief system, etc.; others apply it as a general lifestyle without changing the religion they previously had. That's how you'll find people who may tell you that they are Christian Wiccans or even Catholic Wiccans (I happen to know one of each).
