The BE retrenchment...

The grosses over Memorial Day weekend are extremely important, so in New York, beginning this weekend, BE has been cut back in several multiplexes from 2 and 3 screens to 1; the number of showings has been reduced to 1 or 2 a day; and the time for those showings are extremely unpopular ones.

This is being done to make room for "Gladiator" and "Road Trip," whose screens and showings have been increased.

By next week BE should be almost completely gone. Mercifully.
