Why can't I learn what I want to learn? Why can i only have 2 electives throughout every year of highschool? Why, if I want to write books and learn languages do I need to learn what kind of rocks are located where on this earth, and on other planets. And why do I need to learn which part of the flower produces polin when I'm absolutely positive that when I'm 40 I'll be teaching English class at my daughter's elemtary school? Why is society so dictatorial without even knowing it?! (If possible, email me with an answer at: Danak7@aol.com)

The reason you are being forced to learn subjects that to you and your goals are disinteresting is that inorder for the government to oversee our school system properly they must set a specific guideline of classes that cover all subjects. Once you make it through high school you will be able to find a college that will meet you wants and needs about education. Look at it this way, when you are first starting out as a substitute teacher you'll never know what you could be asked to teach. Wouldn't want to be found wanting, would you?
