Hello all I wanted to comment on all the bantering and bickering going on in this forum and some of the other forums here at askme.com. PLEASE STOP! This is a place where people are asking for help. Whatever opinions or suggestions you have for the people posting questions should remain just as that. Debates can be held elsewhere. The person asking the question can CHOOSE on their own what advice they want to take seriously. Ratings and your standing should not be such a big issue especially NOT in these types of forums. I look through these forums hoping to find a similar problem as mine and guess what?! ALL I read are these little side comments about other experts and hostile remarks. IT does not HELP me or others who are in need of support and advice! These differences of opinion or insults can be posted privately or even better can be ignored (since we do not know each other intimately and we do have other lives than this on the forum)...There is no need for insulting remarks in open posts or whether or not ECT works or if psychiatry is B.S....that is for the individual to decide not by the "EXPERT" (who we all agree can be just anybody!)... Please stop and return this forum back to it's natural state. Give your own honest advice and move on with your life. Thanks.

Hi
Your points are both well made and 100% right.
In order to stop a lot of the bitching we should all use a name, after all they are made up anyway, and by constantly allowing this "Anonymous" stupidity nobody is held to account when there is a battle for top spots. I have bever, and will never, hide my identity fromon anyone. I will also always send any doubts, or personal comments, via private questions...maybe we should all ensure everyone knows who we are...why we are saying what we are and keep the back biting on the private pages.
So while I agree with your comments I also feel you too are hiding behind a no name situation. You statement is right...it is agreed by most of us so why not use your name??
But thanks none the less...maybe some will now decide it is better to help than fight!!!
I enjoy helping, offering an exchange of experiences and, I feel, my replies show I am doing a helpful job here...this is my mission and I am going to stick to it.
Once again many thanks ???

Hi again
Many thanks for your comment on my reply.
I can see now why you chose not to put your point under a name....I try to forget that there are a lot of miserable people about the site. It is a shame because most of us want to do anything we can to help, and being a resident of the UK the points, or rankings, mean nothing to me, I am not eligable for any reward, nor do I seek any. I am rewarded by the comments I get back from those I try to help.
I am noticing that a lot of my questions are now coming in via "Private"..again this is fine by me, but I wonder if this is for the same reason?? Maybe people are now looking at the profile and answers before asking??? Whatever the reason I am just happy to see, for the moment anyway, things do seem to be settleing back to "normal"
Well done on your comment it seems that many feel the same and that can only be for the good of the people looking for help and advice.
Best wishes
Dave (UK)

i don't exactly know why my name would help or not help. Using anonymous would be the same as using my name. It would still keep me anonymous. However Im smart too, although it may be that many agree with my statements, I do not need to be harrassed by others as well for whatever reasons some crazy person might have. So thats that. Thanx for replying and supporting my statement.
