They suspect I have bi-polar. I have over acheived for years with high levels of energy only to enter a depression cycle the past two years (42 now). My cycles vary from one day to two weeks, although slowly narrowed the past several years from once a year to every six months, to every three months, and on down. I am on Wellbutrin with Nuerontrin as the stablizer. It works but doesn't always hold me so we have tried Lactimal and now Depathal in addition to the Nuerontrin. We are now considering using Lithium which concerns me. I am also involved in meditation, yoga, and have studied Budhism and American Native traditions. What are your thoughts on the medication. It seems to help me a lot in functioning in my present job which is financially related with a lot of stress. thanks

Let me start by pointing out that I am not experienced with bi-polar disorder. I do know from research that Lithium is a very common treatment for the disorder. Why are you concerned about taking it? I'm glad to hear that what you are taking now is helping you function with the stress of your job. Express to your therapist your concerns about Lithium. Quality of life is so important. If Lithium can offer you that, it may be worth the try. Write anytime. Sincerely, trishowe
